Challenges of Integration

The integration of deaf children living in Hungary comes with numerous challenges, including those relating to the sports education system, social inclusion, and meeting special needs. Modern technologies such as hearing aids and cochlear implants can provide significant assistance in the communication and learning of deaf children; however, their use during sport is problematic or, in many cases, not possible at all. Team sports — particularly football — offer excellent opportunities to support the integration of deaf children, yet there are numerous problems and difficulties to overcome. The absence of verbal instructions means that verbal cues given by teammates and coaches are difficult for them to understand and often fail to reach the intended recipient at all. Deaf and hard-of-hearing children struggle to perceive hazardous situations — an oncoming ball or another player — when they cannot hear the warnings. Whistle signals and other auditory alerts used during matches are inaccessible to them, putting them at a disadvantage during play.

Why is it unique?

Every other coaching tool was built for players who can hear. LOOK AT ME was built for everyone else. A wearable device that transforms a coach’s tap into a vibration felt on the player’s wrist — bridging the gap between the sideline and the pitch in milliseconds, silently, invisibly, and without compromise. Because talent has never been about hearing. It’s about feeling the game.

Our mission is…

…to break down the communication barriers that have kept deaf and hard-of-hearing young athletes from fully participating in the sport they love. We believe that hearing loss should never define a player’s potential, limit a coach’s ability to guide, or stand between a child and the game. Through LOOK AT ME, we are building a world where every player on the pitch — regardless of hearing ability — receives the same tactical information, the same attention, and the same chance to succeed. The sport is a universal language, and we are making sure everyone gets to speak it.

Tracks heart rate in real time by emitting light into the skin and analysing the reflection patterns of blood vessels with each heartbeat — giving coaches and players live insight into physical intensity.
